Cast Iron Mac & Cheese (4/5): If only this was creamier! The leeks and shallots added such a nice flavor and I loved the baked cheese on top. The big bummer for me was how watery the sauce was (almost a broth-like consistency). The pasta was also a little softer than I like and I wonder if that's because of the watery sauce. Still a great, unique mac & cheese that I would definitely get again though.  1/4 lb Mac Daddy Beef Burger (4/5): Basically a slightly better version of the Big Mac, but similar to the Big Mac, there wasn't enough meat for the amount of bun. The meat was also lacking in flavor and not very juicy. The regular 1/2lb version would fix the bun to meat ratio, but that isn't available for the lunch special.  *Great lunch special: pick two for $12! RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

This place is good vibes! I love the decor and music. Inside and outside seating. The employees were on top of things, food came out quickly. We were told no heat lamps in the kitchen and food would be brought out as it came up- so not all orders at the same time. I was okay with that!! I'd rather have hot food than cold. My husband had the Chicken Avocado Sandwich with chips. I had the Beet Salad and added pulled rotisserie chicken; very good!! And filling. The Peach Mule was tasty, too! Would definitely go back again, while in uptown Charlotte!

I came here with my mom as a recommendation from a local. We started our meal with the spicy whipped feta and pita. It was very good and there was certainly enough of it to share with a table of 4. I'd say spice level was about a 4/10 (caveat... I do handle spicy foods well). For entrees, I had the smoked half chicken and my mom had the super grain bowl with salmon. The chicken was extremely tender/flavorful and came with two fantastic dipping sauces. As for the super grain bowl w/ salmon, that was even better! The salmon was some of the best grilled salmon I have ever had. I'm excited to come back and try something new! Bonus points... you can take a nice after dinner walk down the street to Freedom Park to help digest some of that tasty food :)

On of my favorite go to places. The food is always hot and fresh. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Creative alcoholic drinks. Favorite menu item is the rotisserie lamb gyro with kettle chips. The lamb is cooked well. Never burnt or too crisp. Tzatziki sauce made in house. Vegan options available as well!

I'll be in Charlotte for a few weeks so I'm definitely making my rounds while I am here, I've been craving Mediterranean food since my last restaurant review in Atlanta and found myself at Kid Cashew. The restaurant was huge! It has tons of seating both indoor and outdoor options, it was really well lit. I went in the evening so the ambiance was amazing.  We sat outside, and they had the lights all around the patio, they were really nice to look at. The service was good, we were seated rather quickly by the hostess, but unfortunately, it took quite some time for a server to get to us.  We were sitting there for a long while, and eventually our server David got to us. He was really apologetic for the wait, I'm not sure if he was even supposed to be our server but he took really good care of us, he even took a few items off of our tab for the inconvenience and that was greatly appreciated. He gave us some suggestions as far as entrees and dessert, we also got our food very quickly so that definitely made me forget about the long wait. The food was decent, my favorite thing that I ate was the wood-fire grilled octopus....yes, I had octopus lol. I'm making it a point to expand my palate and try new foods, and although I actually have had octopus before it was at a sushi restaurant, this was a completely different experience. I also had a lamb burger and lamb skewers (again was craving Mediterranean) the lambs were good, had them both well done there was a considerable amount of fat in them and I hear that is where all the flavor is but I am not a fan of the consistency.  Both were tasty nonetheless, the dessert was another highlight here, David told us to get the chocolate mousse cake, and it was DELICIOUS. Highly recommended if you stop by Kid Cashew!

Enjoyed the food here! It was very busy when we stopped in on a Sunday. There were some spots outside on the patio and a handful indoors. We chose to sit inside to avoid the heat - it was still pretty warm truthfully as it was crowded! Waitress was nice, definitely busy. They serve tapas style so everything comes out as it's ready, but ours came out together which was nice. Our food was good, it's supposed to be healthy and fresh, too. The menu was on the smaller side, which made sense based on their commitment to fresh everything, no freezing or heat lamps. I also got the impression that the menu changes often. I'd definitely return, at a slower time of day, and would check out their patio in spring or fall!
